Children’s Group Lessons
8:45 to 9:15am Ages 4-5. Cost: $20 members/$22.50 non-members
9:15 to 10:00 am Ages 6-8. Cost: $28 members/ $32.50 non-members
10:00 to 10:50 am Ages 9-11. Cost $37.50 members/ $42.50 non-members
11:00 to 11:50 am Ages 12 & up. Cost $37.50 members/ $42.50 non-members
Two-week sessions run Monday through Thursday. To sign up, mail in the printable registration form or call 724-5227 (after May 13).

Toddler TennisThis is a 30-minute introductory tennis program for three year-olds. Toddlers will learn about tennis through various games and drills. Parents/caregivers are asked to stay and encourage their young champion. Toddler tennis is held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:15 to 9:45am. Adult Drills
Beginning June 14, adult drills will be available on Monday through Thursday mornings at 7:45 a.m. and Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6:00pm. Cardio tennis is a one-hour program focused on keeping your heart rate up! Cardio tennis sessions are held Fridays at 7:45 am. All drills and cardio tennis are one hour in length.
The cost is $10.00 for Longview members and $15.00 for non-members (tentative). Sign up the day before each session by phone or in the Longview Clubhouse. Sessions will be held weather permitting. Call the clubhouse at 724-5227 for weather conditions.
Unlimited drill/cardio tennis pass for $150 for Longview members!

Junior Team - 2010 Info
Tue, Wed, Thurs 1:00-2:30
This group is for advanced players who are in sixth through eighth grade. Tryouts will be scheduled in June to determine the members of the Junior Team. Players looking to make the team should know the rules of tennis and how to keep score, and they must be able to sustain a rally for 4-5 shots. Tryouts will consist of match play with the top players earning a spot on the team. Team members will learn strategy for both singles and doubles. They will also take part in drills to improve all areas of the game. The Junior Team will host matches at Longview and will also travel to play other clubs such as Virginia, Hibbing, and Grand Rapids. Parental support will be necessary to facilitate ease of travel. Cost $280.
High School Team - 2010 Info
The 2010 High School (HS) Team will begin the week of June 14 and will end August 12 (date tentative). HS Team involves competitive players who are at least going into the ninth grade in the fall or have played varsity tennis. This program will involve intense drills and match play. Players will participate in either morning drills or afternoon drills and match play twice a week. The week of August 9 (date tentative), all girls will participate in a high school tune-up camp which is included in the cost of the HS Team. Competitive matches against other teams will be set up throughout the summer at Longview and other communities. Players will have to provide their own transportation. This is a part of the USTA Junior Team program that is very popular around the country as it mixes boys, girls, and competitive play. Some players may have the opportunity to represent Longview at the sectional playoffs in late July or early August. HS Team program includes USTA membership and Junior Longview membership. The cost will be $300 for the entire summer or $150 for each four-week session.
High School Beginner Drills - 2010 Info

This group is designed for players in ninth through twelfth grade who are relatively new to tennis. Players in this group will learn basic principles of the game of tennis, including rules of the game and how to keep score. They will also learn stroke fundamentals, with the goal of building consistent rallies. This is a great group for those looking to make a high school team for the first time. Cost $280.
Middle School (MS) Development Drills - 2010 Info
Tue, Wed, Thurs 12:00-1:00
This group is designed for players in sixth through eighth grade who are new to tennis or have not qualified for the Junior Team. This group will learn basic principles of the game of tennis, such as scorekeeping and rules. Stroke fundamentals will be emphasized throughout the program. Players will work on building consistent rallies, with the goal of learning the skills to move on to the Junior Team in the future. This is the next step for those players who have aged out of the 11:00-12:00 morning session. Cost $280.
