MEET THE STAFF!
Kirk Summers is Longview’s clubhouse manager. He was born and raised in Duluth. He enjoys the winter months with his son Taylor in Arizona. Kirk enjoys tennis and began playing in 1990 when he worked for Arrowhead Tennis and Athletic Club. When he isn’t working, he loves to travel, hike, bike, play tennis, and spend time with family and friends.
Sarah Hurst is Longview’s Head Pro. She is a former Division III All-American tennis player at Connecticut College and 1999 Hall of Fame Inductee. From 1995-2005, Sarah was an Associate Professor of Physical Education, Athletics and Recreation and Head Tennis Coach at Carleton College. In 2005 Sarah married a native Duluthian, John. She now teaches physical education classes at Lake Superior College. Sarah continues to play tournaments and teach tennis at Arrowhead Tennis and Athletic Center.
Lee Kruger is a teacher at East High School. Lee currently co-coaches the Duluth East girls’ team. Lee has a busy life at home with his wife, Kim, their children, Ali, Ty, and their dogs. Lee played college tennis for Gustavus Adolphus where he was captain his final year. Lee taught at Gustavus Tennis and Life Camps for several years and has coached boys and girls hockey and tennis for the last 15+ years. He is an avid fisherman and golfer.
Meghan Donley Kimber was a standout player for Duluth East for six years and played college tennis at Gustavus Adolphus. The women’s team won the NCAA region and went to the national Division III tournament each year. She won three All-American awards in doubles and two in singles. Currently, Meghan co-coaches girls high school tennis at Duluth East and teaches tennis at Arrowhead Tennis and Athletic Club. She continues to be a highly ranked player in the Midwest. She enjoys home life with husband Ken, children Lillian, Karl, and Aleta, and their labs Chester and Sammy.
Patrick Greehan is an instructor with the junior programs at Longview this summer. He is an Assistant Coach for the mens and womens tennis teams at St. Scholastica. Pat also owns the Twin Ports Tennis Pro Shop. Twin Ports Tennis has an affiliation with Longview to provide essential tennis services. Pat is a member of the United States Racquet Stringers Association and the USPTA, so feel free to ask him any questions you have regarding tennis gear. He graduated from Assumption College in 1997, where he played tennis. He earned his MA from Northeastern University in 2001. He lives in Duluth with his wife, Anne.
Jessica Rich is a Certified USPTA Tennis Professional. In the fall, she coaches the Hermantown HS girls tennis team. Originally born in Duluth, Jess grew up in Buffalo, MN. In May of 2007, she graduated from The College of St. Scholastica (CSS) where she earned a BA in Business Management and Marketing. Jessica was also a member of the CSS tennis team where she was named captain her senior year and appeared in three national tournaments.
Willie Paul grew up across the street from Longview tennis courts and has been playing tennis here since he was four years old. He goes to University of St. John’s where he played junior varsity hockey and also practiced with the tennis team. Willie also likes to go to his cabin in the summer and fish.
Tim Dean is from Rhinelander, WI and plays on the tennis team at The College of St. Scholastica. He has taught at Tennis and Life camps as well as Longview Tennis Club.
Briggs LeSavage – is a tennis team member and captain of the East Tennis Team. Briggs graduates this spring and will attend The College of St. Benedict.
Abby Hansen graduated from Duluth East and attended St. Ben’s this past year. She played both singles and doubles at East and was a captain her senior year. She exudes leadership and shows a positive attitude towards everything she does. Abby grew up just two blocks from Longview, playing tennis with her older brothers.
