Longview Tennis Camp (LTC) is our programming for the competitive youth tennis player. The players will learn strategies in both singles and doubles, and will spend time working on stroke development, physical fitness, mental tennis, tennis etiquette and match play. This is an 8-week program and there are 3 different levels starting on June 9th.
***Most of the players should sign up for the same group they were assigned to last summer 2024. (If your player has played tournaments and practiced consistently through the winter, then it may be logical to move them up into the next group). Read the ability descriptions for each group very carefully and sign up for the appropriate group based on your player’s tennis skills.
Longview will move wrongly placed players into the appropriate group to best facilitate tennis development. In this ability-based grouping, there will be a range of ages in each group. These player moves will happen within the first 2 days of the program, if necessary.
**All strokes LTC players should already know how to hit: Serve, forehand and backhand groundstrokes, approach shot, forehand and backhand volleys, overhead, drop shot
**Concepts LTC players should already know about: topspin, slice, continental grip, topspin forehand grip, racket preparation and swing path for a stroke
*All LTC participants will get free entry into the Youth Open Play group and the Longview Junior City Tournament (must sign up), which will be held Monday July 28th - Thursday July 31st
*Contact us at Longviewtennis@gmail.com for any scholarship need for LTC
